Seneca Valley falls to North Allegheny in overtime, 4-3 (OT)
North Allegheny pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over Seneca Valley on a clutch goal by Joseph Zappia.
North Allegheny was led by Zappia, who registered one goal. Zappia scored 49 seconds into overtime to make the score 4-3 North Allegheny. John Parks picked up the assist.
North Allegheny forced Seneca Valley goalie Dylan Sloat to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. North Allegheny struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 24 penalty minutes for three opposing power plays.
North Allegheny also had goals scored by William Carr, Dawson Richard, and Jesse Zahn, who scored one goal each. More assists for North Allegheny came via Erik Chidester, who had two and Tyler Duderstadt and Cameron Zahn, who contributed one each.
Seneca Valley stifled North Allegheny's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.
Seneca Valley was helped by Connor Williams, who tallied one goal. Williams scored 2:55 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Seneca Valley. Alexander Crilley provided the assist. Others who scored for Seneca Valley included Christopher Lipnicky and Luke Vilella, who each put in one. In addition, Seneca Valley received assists from Shane Galis, who had one.
North Allegheny's starting goalie, Douglas Wild, made 11 saves and finished with the win before he was taken out in favor of Joseph Hubert, who stopped 12 shots. North Allegheny registered zero goals on four power play opportunities. Sloat rejected 30 shots on goal for Seneca Valley. Seneca Valley incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
