South Fayette completes comeback, beats Thomas Jefferson, 5-4

South Fayette climbed out of a two-goal hole to beat Thomas Jefferson, 5-4.

South Fayette let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a two hole to pick up the win. South Fayette took a 1-0 advantage on a power play goal by Jordan Timmons at 3:23 in the first period. South Fayette went down 4-2 after Thomas Jefferson's Hayden Hintemeyer put the puck home on the power play at 11:06 in the third period. After knotting things up at 4-4 on a power play goal by Timmons at 13:59 in the third, South Fayette got the game-winner from Timmons at 16:15 in the third period.

Timmons was all over the ice for South Fayette, as he tallied five goals in the win.

South Fayette forced Thomas Jefferson goalie Jordan Blosl to work between the pipes, taking 50 shots. South Fayette capitalized on Thomas Jefferson's penalties, netting four goals while skating with a man advantage.

Other players who recorded assists for South Fayette were Glenn Manni, Spencer Barber, and Jeremy Anthos, who contributed two each.

Thomas Jefferson struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 14 penalty minutes for seven opposing power plays.

Thomas Jefferson was led by Mathew Kreiger, who tallied two goals and one assist. Kreiger scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 7:16 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Thomas Jefferson. Thomas Jefferson had gained a power play chance when Alex Orlandini was whistled for hooking. Daniel Harrold picked up the assist. Kreiger's next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 Thomas Jefferson with 3:53 left in the second period. Brendan Crousey assisted on the tally. Joey Oliver also scored for Thomas Jefferson. In addition, Thomas Jefferson received assists from Anthony Carilli, who had one and Dominic Tamburi, who had two.

South Fayette's Kyle Sharp stopped 21 shots out of the 25 that he faced. South Fayette incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Blosl rejected 45 shots on goal for Thomas Jefferson. Thomas Jefferson registered two goals on four power play opportunities.
