Huge game by Weber boosts West Allegheny over Wheeling Catholic, 11-2

Sean Weber was all over the ice for West Allegheny, as he tallied four goals and five assists in West Allegheny's 11-2 win over Wheeling Catholic.

Weber got on the scoresheet 14:10 into the first period. He then added goals at 16:12 into the first, at 5:24 into the second, and at 15:48 into the third.

West Allegheny forced Wheeling Catholic's netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, getting 48 shots and forcing 37 saves. Gus Heath made 37 stops and Jacob Laurine made zero. West Allegheny stifled Wheeling Catholic's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. West Allegheny found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. West Allegheny has scored at the pace of 7.5 goals per game during the current campaign.

West Allegheny additionally got points from Jaret Mielnicki, who also racked up three goals and four assists, Brendan Derosky, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Martin Durkin, who also registered one goal and two assists, Lorenzo Giacomino, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Jess Ligas, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, West Allegheny received assists from Mason Carlisle, who had two.

Wheeling Catholic struggled on the penalty kill, allowing West Allegheny to score two power play goals on three chances.

Wheeling Catholic was led by Kyle Wensel, who racked up two goals. Wensel scored the first of his two goals at 4:07 into the second period to make the score 4-1 West Allegheny. Wensel's next tally made the score 5-2 West Allegheny with 9:33 left in the second period. Kyle Newmeyer assisted on the tally.

West Allegheny's starting goalie, Anthony Dominick, made eight saves and finished with the win before he was taken out in favor of Emma Zeveney, who stopped five shots. West Allegheny incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Wheeling Catholic incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
