Wheeling Catholic squeaks by Westmont Hilltop, 5-3
In a game where neither team could get a cushion, Wheeling Catholic escaped with a 5-3 victory over Westmont Hilltop.
Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Chase Edgerton's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.
Luke Edgerton was all over the ice for Wheeling Catholic, as he tallied two goals and two assists in the win. Edgerton scored the first of his two goals at 5:23 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Westmont Hilltop. Ryan Gossett assisted on the tally. Edgerton's next tally made the score 5-3 Wheeling Catholic with 4:18 left in the third period. Kyle Wensel picked up the assist.
Wheeling Catholic additionally got points from Wensel, who also had one goal and two assists. In addition, Wheeling Catholic received assists from Christopher Furka, who had one.
