West Allegheny beats Wheeling Park 10-2 as Ligas gets hat trick
Jess Ligas netted a hat trick to lead West Allegheny over Wheeling Park, 10-2.
Ligas got on the scoresheet 12:01 into the first period. He then added goals at 4:01 into the second and at 6:48 into the third.West Allegheny led 6-1 after the opening frame the first period and maintained a healthy margin after.
West Allegheny stifled Wheeling Park's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Wheeling Park was unable to stop West Allegheny from sending pucks towards the net, and West Allegheny eventually piled up 40 shots on goal. West Allegheny surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, West Allegheny averages 6.9 goals per contest.
West Allegheny additionally got points from Nicholas Skowron, who also registered one goal and two assists.
