The Spokane outdone by Chaney and the Yakima Valley, 6-2
The Yakima Valley (18-13) beat the Spokane (21-9) 6-2 on Wednesday at Spokane Falls Community College behind Alec Chaney, who went 2-4.
He singled in the first inning.Kelly Fitzpatrick picked up the win for the Yakima Valley. Fitzpatrick allowed one earned run, four hits and three walks while striking out one over 6 2/3 innings of work.
Kasey Kelly reached base three times in the game for the Spokane. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the second innings and homered in the sixth inning.
Adam Paulson ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out five, and allowed five runs.
