Huge game by Pallister boosts WHITBY over OTTAWA, 4-1
The win by WHITBY broke a deadlock and gave WHITBY a two-one advantage in the best of five series.
WHITBY put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow OTTAWA to score on any of their three power plays.WHITBY kept OTTAWA's goalie busy throughout the game, and Tanya Winchcombe made 28 saves on 32 shots.
WHITBY also had goals scored by Maya Patel and Hailey Wilson, who each put in one. In addition, WHITBY received assists from Briana Colangelo, Brooke McQuigge, Victoria Howran, Emily Reid, Breanna Bedborough, Brooklyn Bastarache, and Nikita Boardman, who each chipped in one.
OTTAWA did not rack up many penalties in the contest, tallying just one minor for two minutes in penalty time.
OTTAWA were led by Anonda Hoppner (A), who scored the team's only goal. Hoppner (A) scored in the second period to make the score 2-1 WHITBY. Maddison Stitt picked up the assist.
Emma Schram made 21 saves for WHITBY on 22 shots. WHITBY incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. OTTAWA incurred two minutes in penalty time with one minor.
