AURORA rolls over BARRIE, 5-1

AURORA had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-1 win over BARRIE.

Rebecca Feld had a great game for AURORA, netting two goals. Feld scored at 7:33 into the second period to make the score 2-0 AURORA and again while 12:57 into the second to make the score 3-0 AURORA.

AURORA managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. AURORA ended up below its season average of 7.0 penalty minutes per game. AURORA outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, AURORA averages 2.3 goals per contest.

AURORA also got points from Nicole Shaw, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for AURORA included Emerson Eliott and Andrea Elia, who scored one goal each. More assists for AURORA came via Sabrina Manolescu (A), Jennifer Moody, and Braeden Hahnfeld, who each chipped in one and Jayden Thompson and Tyanna Best, who contributed two each.

BARRIE managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. BARRIE wound up below its season average of 5.0 penalty minutes per game. AURORA's defense shut down BARRIE's forwards for much of the game, and BARRIE got off only 10 shots during the contest.

BARRIE was led by Gabby Chenard, who scored the team's only goal. Chenard scored 13:21 into the second period to make the score 3-1 AURORA. Madi Stephenson picked up the assist.

Kristen Caporusso made nine saves for AURORA on 10 shots. AURORA registered zero goals on one power play opportunities. BARRIE's starting goalie, Emma Gorski, made seven saves and finished with the loss before she was taken out in favor of Mia McLeod, who stopped 15 shots. BARRIE registered zero goals on one power play opportunities.
