Bush's Big Night at Plate Note Enough in Loss to Clinton
Clinton (IA) The Clinton Lumberkings scored four times in the third inning and that was enough to defeat the Alton River Dragons 4-2 at NelsonCorp Field Sunday afternoon.
The loss spoils a big game at the plate for Noah Bush who had a single, double and a solo homer. He accounted for three of the team's four total hits, with Eddie King Jr picking up a RBI double in the ninth.
The bullpen combination of Collin Salter, Alec Nigut and Blake Stenger combined to throw 5.2 innings of scoreless relief to keep the River Dragons in the game. Starter Matt Romero fired two scoreless innings before running into trouble in the third and allowing the four runs.
With the loss, the River Dragons lead atop the Prairie Land Division drops to one-game in the loss column over second place O'Fallon with two weeks remaining in the first half sprint.
The teams finish their two-game series Monday night in Clinton at 6:30pm.
