Rochester Hills, MI – The Rochester College Warriors are pleased to announce the first signing for the 2016-2017 season. Goaltender, Rob Meadows, will be joining the Warriors after transferring from NCAA D3 Framingham State University.

Meadows is a resident of Shelby Township and spent one season with Framingham State University.  Prior to joining the Rams, Rob spent two seasons with the Dells Ducks of the Minnesota Junior Hockey League (MNJHL). During the 2012-2013 season, Meadows appeared in 16 games for the Ducks and posted a .907 save percentage and a 2.07 goals against average, with a dominant run in the playoffs. Rob posted a 1.15 goals against average and a .952 save percentage in his 7 playoff games during that season. Meadows followed that season with a 2.39 goals against average and a .910 save percentage in 27 games played in 2013-2014.

Rob will join a goaltending group that includes seniors Brenden Kruckenberg and Zakk Olvin and will be looked upon to compete for time during the 2016-2017 season as he prepares to help carry the goaltending load in the 2017-2108 season.

Coach Cagnet’s comments on Rob: “First, and most importantly, Rob is a great teammate and will be a great fit in our locker room. He is competitive, committed and very mature on and off the ice. He has agreed to come into a competitive situation where ice time is going to be difficult to come by but he appreciates the opportunity to compete and earn time in net for us. Rob is going to be especially valuable, as both Krucky and Zakk will be graduating at the end of this year. He will need to be ready to step in and contribute and lead. I know that he is capable of both and we are really pleased that he has chosen Rochester College and I know Coach Washer is excited to get to work with him this year.”

Meadow’s comments on committing to RC: “Rochester is a good small school that cares about student success and learning. I am excited to be playing again and being a part of a team”.
