The Lake Norman Copperheads get on top of the SBA Bones early but can't hang on in 5-2 loss

The Lake Norman Copperheads (8-16) came out firing, but couldn't hang on to the lead, ending up on the losing side of a 5-2 ballgame against the SBA Bones (17-9) on Saturday at Hough High School.

While the Lake Norman Copperheads led until the fifth inning, the SBA Bones worked their way back and took the lead on an error.

Carson White had two extra-base hits for the SBA Bones. He doubled in the fourth inning and homered in the sixth inning.

Grant Byers struck out eight hitters en route to the the SBA Bones win. Byers allowed two earned runs on five hits and two walks over six innings.

Pierce Suttles racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Lake Norman Copperheads. He homered in the first inning.

Tyler Baker (1-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out 10, and allowed five runs.

The SBA Bones were sparked by White and Bailey Lewis, who teamed up for three hits and two RBIs.
