After falling in the first game of the 1-87 best of 3 series, Siena reeled off two SECHL wins against their rivals Marist to capture the 1-87 Cup. In early October, Marist was able to down the Saints in nonleague play by a score of 5-2 to take a 1-0 series lead. Siena, who has put together back to back impressive weekends before the Thanksgiving break, took game #2 of the series on November 10th by a score of 5-2. The Saints completed the 3 game set with a 4-2 win last weekend. Prior to the I-87 rubber match, Siena played a home and home against then ranked #1 Army who lead the regional and SECHL standings. After falling in overtime 2-1 in the first game of the home and home, the Saints were able to complete a shootout victory to take game #2. The Saints have just one league game left in the second half of the season against Sacred Heart, but were able to move into the #4 spot in the SECHL standings and earn a slight bump in the regional rankings as well.

Elsewhere in the league, Army traveled to North Carolina and earned a weekend split by defeating UNC Chapel Hill and falling in overtime to #2 in the Southeast North Carolina State University. Sacred Heart hosted Clarkson and the two teams split the weekend with a 2-1 win for SHU and a 7-5 loss in a high scoring second game. Sacred Heart also took a trip to #1 Southeast ranked Florida Gulf Coast where they dropped both games against a highly touted FGCU team. Montclair State took to the ice and earned a win against Westchester and fell to Millersville in a shootout as the team traveled to PA for the weekend. The team also fell to highly ranked Connecticut College last weekend. Clarkson had two impressive wins against highly ranked Bentley and UConn the weekend prior traveling to Sacred Heart which should supply a positive bump in the regional rankings for them as well. The Golden Knights currently hold the #2 spot in the SECHL standings. Marist looks to break their three game losing streak this coming weekend as they host Sacred Heart and travel to Montclair in their final league games of the season.
