Francoeur stymies Ottawa Midget AAA, OHA U18 Midget AAA wins 2-1

Danick Francoeur had a standout game with 37 saves, and the OHA U18 Midget AAA OHA U17 beat the Ottawa Midget AAA Senators 2-1.

OHA U18 Midget AAA's penalty kill excelled, as the OHA U17 gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

OHA U18 Midget AAA was sparked by Dylan Stacey, who registered one goal and one assist. Stacey scored 11:03 into the third period to make the score 2-1 OHA U18 Midget AAA.

The OHA U17 stifled Ottawa Midget AAA's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. OHA U18 Midget AAA could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 20 minutes in penalties during the game.

OHA U18 Midget AAA also got a goal from Justin Cheng as well.

The Senators' penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled six minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 10.0 minutes per game Ottawa Midget AAA had been spending in the box. The Senators excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Ottawa Midget AAA's offense operated below its season average. The Senators put an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game. Ottawa Midget AAA's offense rang up 38 shots on the OHA U17's net.

The Senators were led by Tyler Villeneuve, who scored the team's only goal. Villeneuve scored 8:40 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Adrien Bisson assisted on the tally.

Nicolas Rousseau recorded 25 saves for Ottawa Midget AAA. For the Senators, Wade Brennan was ejected from the game.
