Come Try Ringette Event a huge success!
A day of Ringette at the Oakbank Arena
This Saturday saw the Oakbank Arena hopping with families and their children discovering and having fun playing the game of ringette! Led by SRA volunteers, parents, and Ringette Manitoba certified instructors, children from the Springfield area had the opportunity to don helmets and skates and see what ringette was all about at the Springfield Come Try Ringette Event.
The event included crafts, fun activities, and even opportunity to purchase used equipment at a great price. The SRA used sport equipment sale saw families donating their used sporting equipment all week, and on Saturday the sale allowed many potential ringette players to get outfitted for the 2017/18 ringette season with ease.
After the Come try Ringette event, the U14 AA Eastman Flames showcased the sport at a high level and took on the Southwest Winnipeg Wild. The stands were packed as many people saw how fast paced and exciting the game was. Thanks to the participants of the Come Try event for making posters and cheering the Flames on!
A big thank you to the organizers of the event, SRA Ringette4U Reps Christine and Garth. The day was a huge success thanks to the many parents, volunteers and enthusiastic players. Ringette is certainly alive and well in Eastman!
Come out to the Rink and see a game once the season starts rolling!
