Navarro, 31, hit .246 with five home runs and 20 RBIs in just 54 games last season after putting up solid numbers in 2014 as a starter, his first year with the Jays.

The Blue Jays signed Russel Martin last winter, pushing Navarro to the No. 2 role. The Venezuelain requested a trade early in the season, but eventually accepted his role when Toronto began their run to the AL East championship in the summer.

Alex Avila will share catching duties with Navarro in Chicago next season.
