WESTERNERS SIGN TWO DOLPHINS

DANBURY, CT (April 26): The Danbury Westerners, the longest tenured team in the New England Collegiate Baseball League, are proud to announce the signing of catcher Trey West and first baseman Patrick Wright for the 2015 season. Both West and Wright both play for the LeMoyne Dolphins.
Trey West is a junior from Fairport, NY. West is a catcher who bats left handed and throws right handed. West displays great patience at the plate. His current stats of the season, through April 26th, show him having a .solid 257 batting average. West has started 27 games, with 101 at bats, and is third on the team with 26 hits. Most impressively, West has handled 154 putouts and garnered 15 assists, all while playing errorless baseball. Over the past two years at Le Moyne, West boasted a batting average of .304, starting 53 games out of 55.
Patrick Wright is a junior from Liverpool, NY who plays in the infield at Le Moyne. Wright bats and throws right handed. So far this season Wright has a .244 batting average, starting in 28 games this season. Wright has scored 11 runs and driven in 10, and has an outstanding .389 OBP. Wright field his position well, with a .985 fielding percentage. Since his freshmen year at Le Moyne, he has a batting average of .260 and has started 58 games.

The Annual Celebrity Breakfast welcomes the 2015 Danbury Westerners to the greater Western Connecticut community. In addition, the Westerners are thrilled to announce that former All Star and New York Mets World Series Champion Bud Harrelson will be the keynote speaker. The Danbury Westerners compete in the New England Collegiate Baseball League, the premiere summer league for college athletes to play competitive, wooden-bat baseball in the New England region.
