Florida Collegiate Summer League June 16th Recap
The Winter Park Diamond Dawgs put 11 runs on the board last night and pounded the Winter Garden Squeeze 11-3. Eliot Shapleigh (Stetson) pitched two scoreless innings yesterday and earned the win for the Dawgs. Samuel Martin (George Washington) hit a double and home run in the win for the Diamond Dawgs. James Fraser (West Virginia Wesleyan) hit a double and drove in three for Winter Park last night.
The Sanford River Rats hosted the DeLand Suns yesterday and the River Rat sent their fans home happy as they downed the Suns 4-3. Keisy Portorreal (Clarendon College) pitched 1.1 scoreless innings yesterday and picked up his 3rd save of the season. Adan Ordonez (North Carolina A&T) had three hits for the River Rats last night.
Altamonte Springs lowered the “Boom” on the Leesburg Lightning by the score of 18-3 yesterday. Matt Gandy (Creighton), Cody Henry (Alabama) and Matt Anderson (C. Arkansas) all had three hits for the Boom last night. Christopher Townsend (C. Arkansas) had two hits and drove in four in the win. Seth Elledge (Dallas Baptist) earned the win in relief last night.
