Game Recap against North Adams SteepleCats 6/8/17
The SwampBats lost their second game of the season in an away game against the North Adams SteepleCats on June 8th.
With University of Louisville’s Austin Dickey up on the mound, the SteepleCats were only able to score one home run in the bottom of the first.
In the second inning, the SteepleCats scored two runs, one off an error and one off a triple. The SteepleCats scored another home run in the bottom of the fourth.
By the bottom of the sixth, Andrew White from the University of Buffalo stepped in to pitch. The SteepleCats earned another run, setting the score at 5-0.
The SwampBats continued to give it their all, finally scoring in the top of the eighth. St. John’s University’s Robert Boselli III earned a run on a wild pitch.
In an impressible comeback, the SwampBats scored two runs in the top of the ninth. Tucker Bradley from the University of Georgia earned a run, along with Mitchell Webb, also from the University of Georgia.
The game ended 5-3, in favor of the SteepleCats.
“It’s the first time playing with each other and a lot of the guys redshirted during the year, so they haven’t seen live pitching in about a year now. So I just think they need to get some more bats and pitchers need to get some more innings and we’ll be fine down the road,” White said.
Tomorrow the SwampBats take on the Danbury Westerners for a second time.
