Midget Tier I U-16/ U-18 Tryout Dates Announced
Players birth years, 2000-2003 will have the opportunity to tryout for the 2018-2019 Syracuse Stars full season U-16, U-18, and Utica Comets U-16 Futures teams all at one tryout, April 11-12 at Meachem Ice Arena. The U-16 and U-18 Stars teams will be full season, Tier I National tournament bound, competing in the USPHL.
As part of the Stars' affiliation with the Utica Jr. Comets, the Comets will be selecting their U-16 Tier I National Tournament Bound team from this joint April 11-12 tryout. The Utica Jr. Comets U-16 team will compete in the U-16 Futures division of the USPHL (Stars' charter) and will play a mixed U-15 and U-16 schedule.
This provides more opportunities for 2002 and 2003 players to secure their spots at the Tier 1 level, all the while attending only one tryout.
The USPHL is the largest Midget and Junior league in the country and advances hundreds of kids into the collegiate ranks each year. By joining forces, the Comets and Stars will provide every level in the USPHL, from U-16 Futures to NCDC (tuition free juniors).
While remaining in the same program, players have the opportunity to advance within the same organization throughout their Midget and Junior years.
In 2018-2019, the Syracuse Stars will feature the following teams:
