KENNEWICK, WA - The Tri-City Outlaws, proud member of the United States Premier Hockey League, announced today that 18 year old Adam Shimamoto has re-signed with the team for the 2016-17 season.  This is Adam's third season with the Outlaws and he has continued to improve greatly, especially over the last season with Coach McCue.  The 5'8" forward from Thornton, CO has been a force both on and off the ice.  Last season Shimamoto posted 55 points in 40 games played and was fourth on the Outlaws scoring leaderboard while placing in the top 10 of the league in points.  Shimamoto comes into this season with excitement and ready to continue his role as a young leader of the team.

"I'm excited for the upcoming season and glad to see the returning core of players coming back to the Outlaws," stated Shimamoto.  When asked about the transition from the NPHL to the USPHL for the upcoming season this is what he had to say.  "The league took a big step in joining a nation wide league (USPHL) and it will create great exposure for our team, and players, and will give us some new competition that we haven't seen."

The Outlaws General Manager Jordan Owen had this to say about Adam's return.  "Adam brings a passion to this game that you don't see in many players.  His speed and ability to drive the puck to the net is what this team needs when it comes to offensive production.  As far as his leadership, Adam is well beyond his years with his maturity and is the type of person that you want to pick the guys up when they need to be picked up and push them when they need to be pushed.  We are very excited to have him back and know that he will have another great season."

The Outlaws are gearing up for their fifth season of junior hockey in the Tri-Cities.  Make sure to check out the Outlaws website over the next few weeks as plenty of announcements in regards to player signings, release of game schedule and other events will be published.  Also, join us on social media: Facebook: Tri-City Outlaws --- Twitter: @TCOutlaws
