New Appointed Management Positions

Team Ontario Lacrosse is gearing up for the 2017 season and is pleased to announce four new appointed staff members joining the management team.

Joining Team Ontario as Head Athletic Therapist is Alison Stewart. The Head Athletic Therapist will be responsible for creating a concussion protocol to be used by all Team Ontario teams as well as coordinating Team athletic therapists. Her position will include hiring/ appointing professional and certified athletic therapists for all teams and camps, overseeing athlete medical try-out forms, ensuring the implementation of concussion protocols, recieve all injury and incident reports during events. Alison is both a certified athletic therapist as well as a registered massage therapist. She graduated from Sheridan College in 2015 and has worked with Brampton's Junior A and Junior B teams, as well as with the Team Ontario Program for two years. Alison also attended concussion conferences to expand her knowledge on concussions as well as how to assess/ treat them, and prevent them. Alison can be reached at alison@teamontariolacrosse.com.

Lynn Withers will be the new Team Ontario Registrar. This position is essential and will ensure the OLA League and Club Registrars are registered properly and understand their role in the athlete registration process. After athletes are registered and approved, the Registrar will move the athlete into the appropriate Team List. Lynn has over 13 years of experience in the lacrosse world and has worn many hats. Starting in 2004 Lynn was the Club Rep Team Manager for Peterborough Minor Lacrosse, and since then has filled other roles such as secretary, Club Registrar, treasurer, V.P. Finance, and President. With her vast experience and knowledge Lynn will definitely be an asset to the administration of Team Ontario. Lynn can be reached at lynn@teamontariolacrosse.com

Andie Hawkins will be joining Team Ontario as Communications Coordinator. The Communications Coordinator will report directly to the Director of Administration and will be responsible for the Team Ontario website, press releases, new articles and social medias. Andie has a BA from Wilfrid Laurier University and recently completed a post-grad in Sport and Event Marketing. She will be the point of contact for all communications. The Team Ontario Program is pleased to have Andie join the Management Team. Andie can be reached at andie@teamontariolacrosse.com.

Lastly, Shane Withers will be joining the team as the Referee Assignor. The Referee Assignor is responsible for the coordination of referees for all Team Ontario events, ensuring referees are aware of their responsibilies as it applies to Team Ontario protocol, as well as communicating reports to administration. Shane is from Peterborough and played Jr. A for three years and Jr. B in Clarington for a year. He has been an official for 13 years, the last six as a Level 4. Shane has been a part of the Ontario Lacrosse Referee Development Team for the last three years as a clinician, and for the last two as a Referee Supervisor at the Ontario Lacrosse Festival.
