Vermont notches win number five in a row with a hot start against the Swamp Bats
MONTPELIER, Vt. - The Vermont Mountaineers notched a key North Division matchup against the Keene Swampbats with a 6-3 win on Monday night. It gave the Mountaineers a 3-2 series lead so far with three more games between the two squads and win number five in a row.

• Vermont struck in the first inning for the third consecutive game with three runs off of two hits, the biggest being a two-RBI double from Carlos Martinez.
• Vermont put up another three runs in the second inning with yet another double from Carlos Martinez with four two-out baserunners to make it 6-0.
• With one swing Keene cut the deficit in half as Jake Koonin hit his NECBL-leading ninth home run.
• Both teams' offenses ran cold the rest of the night, with six straight scoreless innings.
