ATHLETICS' NET 3 IN LOSS TO GENERALS
The duo of Spencer and Tyler Turcotte racked up two goals for the Athletics’ Friday night against the Stoney Creek Generals but it wasn’t enough to take the win.
With a 3-0 lead for the Generals three minutes into the second period, Thorold responded with two quick goals from Kenneth Bradford and Spencer Turcotte on second year goaltender Matthew Sagrott.
Only trailing by one coming into the third, the Athletics’ were quick to make the first move and Tyler Turcotte scored just 40 seconds in. Unfortunately, the Generals regained the lead with five minutes to go and ended up taking it 6-3.
Goaltender Colin Dunne stopped 45 of the 51 shots he faced and JJ Martin assisted on each of the Athletics’ goals.
They will look for revenge Friday, January 6th as they once again take on the Stoney Creek Generals at 7:27pm in the Thorold Arena.
