Thursday was a great day for Nick Mondak, as Mondak threw seven scoreless innings to carry the Torrington Titans (10-15) to a 2-0 victory over the North Shore Navigators (9-16) at Fuessenich Park.

It was a good day at the plate for the Torrington Titans' Jose Negron. Negron went 3-4 and scored one run. He singled in the first, sixth, and seventh innings.

A bright spot for the North Shore Navigators in the defeat was Richie Cruz, who allowed only two runs while striking out six.

Cruz ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year.
