2021 BCPBL Season Recap
The WRTBA is proud of the job our players and coaches did this 2021 BCPBL Season! Thanks to everyone who made this year happen.
W-L Records - All 3 White Rock teams had W-L records over .500 for the first time since we began a Bantam team in 2017. The Seniors were 15-14, Juniors 20-19 and Bantams 27-14-1
Playoffs - Our Senior program ended the season strong, going 3-0 in the playoffs before falling in the semifinals and finished 3rd in the BCPBL, our highest finish since winning the title in 2003. The Juniors lost to the eventual champs in our Pod final, one game away from their league semifinals. Last but not least, our Bantam team finished 2nd in the league after an impressive win in the Semifinals and tough-luck-loss in the Finals (no-hit the opponent after the first inning). Hats off to our teams!
New Head Coaches - With 3 brand new Head Coaches at the helm, we were proud to see the hard work they put in pay off with our program results after the season. We look forward to watch Coach Stang (Senior) and Paculan (Bantam) continue their progress and wish Coach Doucet the best as he pursues his Pilot career.
Team Records - Our program crushed the previous HR record with 33 total and our pitchers struck out 834 batters in 770 innings pitched!! We also had two No-Hitters and nearly 3 others, all spoiled late in games!!
Volunteers - The program hosted a playoff Pod for each division which no other team in the league did. That couldn't have happened without our families stepping up to get it done! Concessions, Scorekeeping, Painting and more - we are grateful to have a strong community of helping hands.
Lastly, we are thankful everyone remained healthy throughout the year and were patient with all the moving parts in such a whirlwind of a season. We hope 2021/2022 has a more normal feel to it - beginning this Fall and into our offseason training/development then continuing with our typical 48-game season, tournaments and even some travel events!
