Team Gold Defeats Team Green 6-3
Led by a hat trick from Senior Captain Harrison Naylor (Toronto, ONT, Canada), Team Gold came away with a 6-3 victory over Team Green in UVM's annual Green and Gold Game. This intrasquad scrimmage serves as a final tune-up before ACHA games get underway. In addition to Naylor's three tallies, Gold saw goals from Jack Levinsky (Burlington, VT), Joey Konvit (Allendale, NJ), and Beck Heil (Mars, PA). The scoring for Team Green came from Dan Venezia (Flemington, NJ), Kyle Vock (South Burlington, VT), and Jake Hall (St. Albans, VT).
UVM ACHA Men's Hockey will begin their season with a two-game homestand against the New Jersey Institute of Technology. UVM visited NJIT during the 2017-18 season and defeated the Highlanders by a score of 6-0. This game took place at the Barnabas Health Hockey House, the practice facility of the NHL's New Jersey Devils. UVM kicks off the 2018-19 season at 8:30 PM against NJIT on Saturday, Sep. 22, then finishes the weekend with a game at 2:30 PM on Sunday, Sep. 23. Admission is free to all UVM ACHA Men's Hockey home games.
