HOLYOKE – The Valley Blue Sox (16-13) play host to the team with the best record in the NECBL when the Mystic Schooners (18-12) head to MacKenzie Stadium for a 6:30 ballgame Monday. The gates will open early at 5 p.m. for Pokemon GO Night, a special promotion for young fans to roam MacKenzie Stadium and catch Pokemon with the Blue Sox players.

The Blue Sox won four straight games prior to the All-Star Break to tie the Sanford Mainers for first place in the Northern Division while the Schooners sit alone in first place in the Southern Division.

After rain postponed the game Thursday with two outs in the top of the first inning, the teams will pick up where they left off with Valley starter James Nittoli on the hill.

Valley walked off for the third time Saturday at MacKenzie, when Kipp Moore (Murray State) hit an RBI single in the bottom of the 11th inning to defeat the Keene Swamp Bats.

Nittoli (1-3, 8.25 ERA, Texas) makes his third start for the Blue Sox after allowing six runs in less than two innings in his last appearance July 6 against the Newport Gulls.

The Schooners are led by Louisiana Tech third baseman Chase Lunceford, who is riding an 11-game hit streak and is batting .348, third best in the NECBL.
