Woodstock Outfielder Tisevich Named Signs USA Player of the Week

Woodstock River Bandit Jacob Tisevich has been named the Signs USA Player of the Week after a dominating offensive performance.
The outfielder from Southern Arkansas hit .545 (12-for-22) with nine RBIs, seven extra base hits, two triples, two homers, seven runs scored and five stolen bases over four games. He slugged a staggering 1.136 for the week with an OPS of 1.701.
Tisevich, who currently ranks third in the league in batting (.396), wrapped up the week with a streak of seven consecutive multi-hit games.
That included a 4-for-4 performance with two triples and four runs scored vs. Harrisonburg, and a 5-RBI game against New Market two days later.
Signs USA is sponsoring the Valley Baseball League Player of the Week for the first time in 2016.

Riley Arnone, SP, Charlottesville Tom Sox- Was 1-0 with a 1.59 ERA, 5.2 IP, one run, four hits and five strikeouts.
Brandon Caples, SP, Purcellville Cannons- Was 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA. Allowed just one unearned run in 8 IP, with six hits, one walk and four K’s in a win over the division-leading Express.
Chase DeMars, 2B, New Market Rebels- Hit .435 (10-for-23) with a whopping 13 runs, and added five RBIs in a big offensive week for New Market.
Derek Gibree, 2B, Winchester Royals- Hit.308 with two runs, two RBIs and three doubles.
Peyton Plumlee, SP, Strasburg Express- Was 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA after throwing six shutout innings with two strikeouts, while allowing two hits and one walk.
Jason Polgano, 1B, Covington Lumberjacks- Hit .421 (8-for-19) with five runs scored and two RBIs. Led his team in hits and runs for the week.
Tanner Poole, CF, Waynesboro Generals- Batted .474 (9-for-19), while adding seven runs, two HRs, and six RBIs.
Tripp Shelton, SS, Harrisonburg Turks- Led the league in batting for the week, hitting .571 (8-for-14) with six runs and two RBIs.
Erne Valdes, SP, Front Royal Cardinals- Was 1-0 with a 1.50 ERA. In six IP, allowed one hit and one run with six strikeouts.
Sam Vincenzo, SP, Staunton Braves- Threw a complete game shutout against Winchester while allowing just one hit and one walk. Struck out four and completed the game in just 86 pitches.
