Premier Eagles Capture Spot in 2019 Best of the West Showcase
The newly formed 2019 Premier Victoria Eagles squad started their season together with some pre-season action in Kamloops this past weekend – September 20-23, 2018.
Battling through wet weather the team won their first two games; 5-2 over Edmonton Prospects Black and 3-0 over the Cloverdale Nationals. The Eagles dropped a close game to White Rock Tritons losing 6-7 in their final pool game.
With a 2-1 record, the team advanced to the qualifying round against the #1 seed Pitt River Rats. After getting down 3-0 early, the team battled back to win 5-3 and clinch a berth in the Best of the West Showcase to be held Spring 2019.
Throughout the weekend, the team was supported by sound defense, strong pitching (IRVINE, HORVATH, HAMBLEY, NANTES, SCOTT, JANSCH and HEGLAND) and powerful offense (BERG 7-13 with 2 2B, BROWN 4-10, JANSCH 4-9).
Manager Charlie Strandlund is excited about the prospect for his 2019 Premier Victoria Eagles team.
