TIGERS PRESS RELEASE JULY 15, 2016

                                                                               Press Release

A tough regular season has transformed into an even tougher offseason as the Tigers will begin the upcoming campaign with a new bench boss. Durwin Selte and the Tigers Executive met this week and both sides decided to mutually part ways for the upcoming season.

Durwin’s commitment to the Tigers over the past 3 seasons is invaluable and he will be missed around the dressing room and in the league. Durwin had a successful Jr B playing career and also found success as a coach later on in Vermilion Minor Hockey as well as the Jr B level.

During his tenure the club made the playoffs in his first season but struggled to make the postseason in the last 2. Unforeseen circumstances left both sides at a stale mate over direction and leadership for the upcoming season. The team has very little time to source and hire a new coach, although a decision is expected in the coming days.

The Tigers would like to thank Durwin and his wife Karen for their commitment and dedication to the Tigers as well as Shannan Brodbin, Eddie Vidal and Dusty Irvine who all played such a key role in the 3 years Durwin was at the helm.
