San Diego State, Cal State Northridge and Long Beach State all represented the WCHC again in the third West Region ranking of the season that was released last Wednesday.

SDSU stayed at 9th and is still in a Regionals spot. CSUN moved up one spot to 17th after beating LBSU two weekends ago. LBSU remained at 19th despite the loss to CSUN and another loss to SDSU the next night.

The top 12 teams in each of the four regions in Division 2 qualify for the post season. The top two seeds receive auto bids to Nationals. Teams ranked 3-12 advance to Regionals. The two teams that survive the single elimination Regionals tournament also go to Nationals.

Weber State is hosting Regionals this season and for the second consecutive year Nationals will be hosted in Columbus, Ohio.

SDSU and CSUN represented the WCHC last season at Regionals as the No. 9 and No. 10 seeds respectively. The Aztecs beat UCLA in the first round and almost pulled off a huge upset over No. 4 Utah State in the second round but lost in overtime. CSUN made Regionals for the first time in Division 2 but came up short to Metro State in the first round.
