The Wenatchee Wolverines U14 development team competed in a weekend tournament in mid-October at the Maverik Center in West Valley, UT just outside of Salt Lake City. The team went 4-1-0 at the event.

Head Coach Marcus Baxter was encouraged by the team’s performance. “It was exciting to get a few games under our belt in SLC. The group performed really well over the weekend and for our first games of the season it was encouraging to see the player’s make a lot of plays and score some entertaining goals.”

With five games in three days, it was a heavy workload for the players. “With one of our goalies, Andrew Lacrosse, recovering from an offseason injury we asked a lot from Thomas Cafarelli in starting and performing very well in a tough situation. He did a tremendous job.”

The Wolverines displayed some offensive firepower. “With the group scoring 29 goals over the weekend we had a lot of positives on the offensive side. It is really a fun team to watch and work with. I’m excited to see how this group progresses as the season moves along.”

Some of the key performers were:

  • Tyler Chapman - 5 goals  5 assists
  • Paco Hodgson - 5 goals 1 assist
  • Robby Berry - 4 goals 2 assists
  • Jack Muhlfeld - 3 goals 3 assists
  • Boone Kindseth - 3 goals 3 assists
  • Kaydence Kelley - 4 goals 1 assist
  • Thomas Cafarelli - 4 wins 1 loss (1 shutout)
