WARRIORS BATTLE HARD AT 16UAA ECEL EVENT

The Wenatchee U16AA Warriors had a tough weekend at the ECEL “Play The Beach Spring Classic” in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Their first game was against MCN, a FL select team. It was a back and forth first half, both teams trading goals and leads, until the ice cut. Wenatchee led 1-0 on a goal by Parker Platt (Andre Cho, Nick Flynn). The Warriors fell behind 3-1, but roared back to a 4-3 lead. The goals came from Cho (Platt, Eli Bailey), Flynn (unassisted), then Flynn scored again with assists from Adam Bedard-Labelle and Ashton Reagan. MCN tied it before the mid-game ice cut. Dylan Pike was in net and faced a barrage of 51 shots, turning aside 45 of them. Wenatchee had 26 shots on the MCN net.
Second game was at 7a on Sunday morning against the Rogue Warriors from Raleigh, NC. Goalie Sam Brasch 42 of 45 shots, and Wenatchee was held to just 11 shots. Third game was played at 1:30p against the Elite Hockey Academy 15’s. The Warriors were outshot 20-4. Second half the Warriors responded, and came out playing hard but fell short in a 5-2 loss. Shots were 17 a piece in the second half. Overall, the Rogue Warriors had 37 shots to Wenatchee’s 21. Dylan Pike stopped 32 of 36 shots, with the Rogue Warriors adding a late empty netter. Wenatchee goals came from Flynn (Platt, Cho) and an unassisted tally from Gino Sanchez.
Back at it early at 7:30a on Monday morning, Andre Cho was the lone bright spot for the Warriors, his goal assisted by Gino Sanchez and Parker Platt. The Atlanta Fire handed Wenatchee a 9-1 loss, outshooting the Warriors 52-11. Sam Brasch went the distance and took the loss.
The Warriors closed out their schedule mere hours later with an 11:30 faceoff with the Florida Wolves. Dylan Pike turned in a solid performance, stopping 39 of 42 shots. Wenatchee scored :08 seconds into the game on an Ashton Reagan goal, assisted by Andre Cho. Later, Reagan and Cho would team up to assist Nick Flynn but the Warriors managed only 13 shots and suffered a 3-2 loss.
The Warriors return to action April 2-4 at the ECEL Northeast Showdown in Danbury, CT.
