Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy Announces 2026-27 Tryouts
WENATCHEE, Wash. – The Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy, proud members of the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) and USA Hockey, are pleased to announce tryout dates and details for the 2026-27 season, the program’s fourth as a full CSSHL member. Tryouts this spring are scheduled for April 17 to 19 at Town Toyota Center and the Weinstein Beverage Rink in Wenatchee. Tryout dates for next season’s teams are held after USA Hockey national championship competitions in accordance with USA Hockey rules for Tier 1 AAA clubs.
The Wild Hockey Academy will field three teams for the 2026-27 season, under the jurisdiction of the Pacific Northwest Amateur Hockey Association (PNAHA), with two fully-billeted 16-and-Under and 18-and-Under teams competing in the CSSHL. A 14-and-Under team will operate under the Academy’s weekend model, allowing players to play and practice on weekends, and return home to attend school and live with their families during the week. All three teams are certified as Tier 1 “national bound” teams eligible for USA Hockey district and national postseason tournaments.
The 16U and 18U teams will play a full CSSHL schedule in the league’s U17 Prep and U18 Prep divisions. Both teams are fully-billeted programs, in which players stay with host families during the season like their WHL counterparts, and attend classes during the week at Eastmont High School in East Wenatchee. The 14U program is also periodically invited to appear as a guest team at CSSHL showcases.
CSSHL programs are recognized in the United States and Canada, and abroad, as perennial leaders among education-based hockey programs - the league has seen 170 of its players selected in the National Hockey League draft, with 55 alumni suiting up in the NHL, since its founding in 2009. The league's programs and events are heavily scouted by junior and college programs across North America, and all teams are fully sanctioned to compete in provincial and national events. This season, 38 accredited programs in Canada and the northwestern United States are fielding a total of 129 teams across eight different CSSHL divisions.
