Mackenzie Wood netted a hat trick to lead Southern Oregon Spartans over Whitefish Wolverines, 10-2.

Wood's first goal came 19:57 into the first period. He then added goals at 17:15 into the second and at 4:14 into the third.

Whitefish Wolverines' 11 penalties came back to haunt it, as Whitefish Wolverines let up five goals while on the penalty kill.

Southern Oregon Spartans did not rack up many penalties in the contest, and ended with eight minors and one major for 21 minutes in penalty time. Southern Oregon Spartans fell short of the 35.0 minutes average penalties per game. Southern Oregon Spartans forced Whitefish Wolverines' goaltenders to work between the pipes, launching 65 shots and forcing 55 saves. Joakim Hidestrand made 34 stops and Brendan Duff made 21.
