Whitefish Wolverines’ Duff commits to University of Toledo
The 2014-2015 inaugural season for the Whitefish Wolverines was also Brendan Duff’s first year playing in Juniors in USA. Brendan is from Surrey, British Columbia, and was attending a Las Vegas showcase when he and Wolverines’ head coach, Joakim Falt, casually struck up a conversation. That was the beginning of a lifelong relationship between them. “Duff played in Sweden for a period of time and because I’m from Sweden, we had an instant connection. Duff was a great person to talk to,” explained Coach Falt.
It wasn’t until later in the summer that Duff and Coach reconnected and discussed the prospect of Brendan playing for the Wolverines in the WSHL. It was a perfect match. The right goalie for the program, the right program for the goalie. “Duff is a tough goalie, a warrior,” stated Joakim.
Duff’s interest in pursuing his college career heightened as the season progressed and through Brendan’s hard work and the Wolverines’ staff efforts, Duff had a number of colleges knocking on the door as his Junior career came to a close. Brendan made the decision to attend the University of Toledo in Ohio. In addition to competing for the Rockets goaltending duties, Duff will pursue a degree in Film and Video Production at UT.
The entire organization is extremely proud of Brendan. “The University of Toledo and the Rockets Hockey Program are gaining a “true beaut” in Duffer, hard working, competitive, coachable, and a leader in the room,” said GM Josh Steel. In the end, our goal is to help these boys advance to a higher level of play and college. We certainly wish Brendan the best in all of his future endeavors.
