Goaltender Connor O’Reilly commits to playing for the Western Michigan University Stallions, committing to put in the work it takes to better not only himself but his teammates. He is ready for the opportunity to take ownership of the crease for the D1 team as soon as he can and never give it up. Last season O’Reilly played 11 games and had a save percentage of .802. Not only is he ready and determined to be in net for the Stallions, he is ready to do the work it takes behind the scenes to be the best he can be. O’Reilly looks forward to the chance to win a national championship with the Stallions over the next four years, but in order to do this he believes that all the players on the team must commit to being a team. “Everyone must be on board from the start, with a team first mentality, and all players ‘rowing the boat’ in the same direction. Winning a national championship is something everyone on the team must rally behind and commit to in order to have an opportunity to achieve the goal,” O’Reilly stated. While at Western O’Reilly will be studying criminal justice, he chose WMU for the chance to compete at a national level with the Stallions and win, as well as for the campus and program offered for his major. Alongside winning a national championship over the next four years O’Reilly would also like to viewed as a good teammate and leader by his fellow teammates and the coaches, and get his degree in criminal justice.
