LaSalle – The LaSalle Vipers continue to rack up the hardware during the 2016-2017 season.

The Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League has announced Vipers defenseman, Brett Banwell has been named Western Conference Defensive Player of the Month for November, while LaSalle goaltender, Eli Billing was selected as November’s Goaltender of the Month for the Western Conference.

Banwell has been one of the steadiest defensemen on Head Coach, Bill Bowler’s blue line in his second year with the club.

He currently has two goals and 13 assists for 15 points in 27 games with LaSalle this season.

Meanwhile, Billing continues to excel as the top goaltender on the Vipers roster, carrying a 2.35 goals against average in 21 games to go along with a 0.921 save percentage and a 16-5-0-1 record.

Billing went a perfect 6-0 in the month of November, posting a 1.50 goals against average and a 0.951 save percentage.

Vipers forward, Liam MacDougall was previously named GOJHL Offensive Player of the Month for October.

The top-seeded Vipers travel to Sarnia to face the Legionnaires tonight before heading to London to battle the second-place Nationals on Saturday.

LaSalle returns to the Vollmer Culture & Recreation Complex – where they have won 13 straight games – on December 14th to host the St. Thomas Stars.

The Vipers will be holding their annual Teddy Bear Night, where fans are encouraged to bring new toys or gift cards to be donated to the LaSalle Fire Service’s Sparky’s Toy Drive.
