WPU ROLLS PAST PENN ST-BERKS
WPU 11 PENN ST-BERKS 3 (Boxscore)
The Pioneers headed out to Reading, Pennsylvania to take on Penn State-Berks on Friday, October, 18th. After a long bus ride, the team was eager to get to work in the ECHA matchup vs the Blue Lions.
Defenseman Scott Huber (Belford, NJ) continued his hot play with a first period goal to get things started. Huber's goal was his fourth in a row for the Pioneers, dating back to his 3rd period hat trick vs Temple. The second period was all WPU, as the team rattled off 5 goals to open up a 7-0 lead. Braden Ploehn (Wayne, NJ) tallied 1 goal, 3 assists, while freshman, Dillon Krok (Valley Cottage, NY) got his first goal in the second frame.
The third period goal scoring was a bit even as Zach Thompson (Anchorage, AK) got a goal to cap his big night with 2 goals, 3 assists overall.
Cole Mulholland got the win in net with 17 saves.
The Pioneers are back on home ice for two ECHA games on Friday, October 25 (vs Temple) and Saturday, October, 26 (vs Navy). The team will be hosting their annual "Pink the Rink" and "Hockey Fights Cancer" nights.
