PIONEERS OPEN '21-22 CAMPAIGN 3-0
After a 3-0 preseason with victories over Montclair State and TCNJ, the Pioneers opened up the 2021-22 regular season with optimism. The team opened regular season play on October 2 at Lehigh University. The team put together a defensive masterpiece in registering a 3-1 win over the Mountain Hawks. Goaltender Cole Mulholland was sharp in net in the victory. The following weekend of October 8-9, the Pioneers put together two more road victories over Rutgers and Villanova. In the Rutgers victory, the Pioneers went up 3-0 over the Ice Knights and held on for a 4-3 win in South Brunswick, NJ. Goaltender Hunter Koch got the win in goal. In the weekend finale, the Pioneers got a thrilling 5-4 overtime victory over Villanova. Freshman defenseman George Boyle got the game winner in the extra session. Senior captain Tommy Bauer and freshman forward, Austin Teats popped in two goals each to pace the offense.
After a 3-0 start, the Pioneers continue the road tour with games at George Mason (10/16) and Towson (10/22). The Pioneers are back at the Ice Vault on October 23rd at 2:15pm vs Towson and October 30th at 2:15pm vs Navy.
