The Pioneers under new coach Bill Katinsky are off to a 5-1 start to the season with the lone loss to ECHA opponent Temple.  The team has been receiving strong goaltending from seniors Hunter Koch (Boonton, NJ), Cole Mulholland (Pompton Lakes, NJ), and Kevin Brennan (Danbury, CT).  The goaltending has received offensive production from a strong cast of players, which starts with last year's ECHA Player of the Year and Captain Adam Marvin (New City, NY) who has recorded an impressive 7 goals, 8 assists for 15 points in just 5 games.  Sophomore Thomas Swartwout (Brick, NJ) has added 13 points in 6 games this year coming off a strong rookie season where he was named ECHA's Rookie of the Year.  Assistant Captains Austin Teats (Emerson, NJ) and George Boyle (North Wales, PA) have contributed 8 and 7 points respectively.  The Pioneers have also received steady two-way play up front from Zach Thompson (Anchorage, AK), Nick Bucci (Piscataway, NJ), Matt Smith (Marshfield, MA), Jason Lastra (Rutherford, NJ) and Dante Amato (Colonia, NJ).  

In addition to contributing offensively, George Boyle has been steady on the blueline leading the defensive corps.  Freshman Matthew O'Donnell (Cedar Grove, NJ) has been stellar on the blueline and adds depth while being able to push the pace offensively.  Returners Thomas Boyle (North Wales, PA) and Ryan Murphy (Enfield, CT) have added defensive depth to the Pioneers through 6 games.  

The Pioneers travel to Buffalo this week for two upcoming games before returning home for two ECHA contests against formidable opponent's in Navy on Saturday, October 28th (2:15 PM) and George Mason University on Sunday, October 29th (5:30 PM).  Both games will be at the Pioneers' home arena Ice Vault Arena in Wayne, NJ.  Please come out and support your Pioneers as they look to continue their season's success.
