Flint is known as a hard working town, and our team is no different. Having been founded in 2006, the team quickly became a strong contender in the ACHA, and finished runner-up at DIII Nationals in 2012. The team is led by coaches Nick Karstens, Joe Berry, and former team founder in 2006 Tom Garavaglia - all of whom are alumni of the program. For the 2022-2023 season, the team has brought in a strong group of 13 new players, and we continue to look for players that will bring a strong work ethic, and will add to the UM-Flint legacy next season.
UM-Flint offers admission on a rolling basis, with flexible requirements for students who bring a wide range of academic backgrounds and experiences to our campus. In addition to your GPA, admissions will look at test scores, the high school you attended, and nonacademic qualities such as leadership and community engagement.
Interested in applying to UM-Flint? Visit the Admissions Office website for step by step details on how to apply. The Financial Aid Office also outlines available scholarships, including the Go Blue Guarantee, which covers in-state tuition for high achieving Michigan students (first-time & transfer) that meet eligibility requirements.
Per ACHA regulations, players must maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA and be enrolled in at least 9 credit hours (fall and winter semesters) to be eligible. Freshmen and transfer students will have no GPA their first semester at UM-Flint, and must simply meet the enrollment requirement.
