Brad Down: OHA Player for September/October

The Central Ontario Junior "C" Hockey League is pleased to announce that Brad Down of the Clarington Eagles has been selected as the Ontario Hockey Association's Player of the Month for September/October.

Brad is in his 5th season of Junior hockey, 4 of those being with the Eagles. As well as being the team's scoring leader, Brad currently holds 3rd place in the League scoring race with 17 points over the first 12 games of the season.

Brad is active with the Clarington Eagles in its partnership with Big Brother and Big Sisters, serves as the team's assistant captain and coaches a minor hockey team.

Brad will receive suitable recognition from the Ontario Hockey Association and become eligible for the OHA Player of the Year and a $500.00 scholarship bursary.

Hyundai Hockey Helpers Awareness Game

A huge thank you to Clarington Hyundai for hosting the Eagles game this Sunday.  Sean Logan of Hyundai Canada and Darlene Brown of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Clarington dropped the puck, accompanied by (L-R) Mike Hamilton, Clarington Hyundai; Vic Chiasson, GM Eagles; and Eugene Todd, KidsSport. Our red carpet guests were escorted by Eagles "Little Buddies" and BBBBC "Littles".

Hyundai Hockey Helpers Awareness Game

Hockey teaches kids to be part of a team, that hard work is the best way to succeed and the value of good sportsmanship, but playing hockey is expensive. Financial barriers keep many kids out of the game. Hyundai Hockey Helpers is dedicated to helping these kids play by providing grants for league registration fees and equipment. So rouse from your turkey coma on Thanksgiving Monday and come out to help Clarington Hyundai and the Eagles raise awareness about the Hyundai Hockey Helpers Grant Program.

Clarington Hyundai is just one of the Hyundai dealers across Canada that supports this program. Hyundai pays for all the administrative costs and the first 1,000 grants given out. But what our kids in Clarington?  Funds raised at Monday’s game will go 100% to support young players in our own community. Please, join us for the game, have some fun, learn how Hyundai Hockey Helpers work and help our kids play hockey. They are the future of Canada’s great game.  The puck drops at 2:20 pm on Monday, 13 October 2014, Garnet B. Rickard Arena, Pad A, intersection of King Street and Route 57, Bowmanville.

Join the Excitement of the Eagles Season

The 2014-15 Season is under way and the Clarington Eagles are very excited about this year's roster which boasts a number of veterans with skill, ability and character and a number of rookies who will add to the overall quality of the team. 

It is expected to be a great year for the team, our sponsors and the the faithful fans who support the Eagles. Local hockey fans are encouraged to come out and enjoy the excitement of Junior Hockey and cheer on the hometown Eagles as they pursue their goal of capturing a league and provincial championship! We look forward to seeing you at future games and hope you bring your friends and family to Rickards and  "Fly with the Eagles"!!
