GILBERT SIGNS WITH THE ICE '20-'21

We are pleased to announce we have signed forward Owen Gilbert from Minden, On. Gilbert played his minor hockey for the AAA Central Ontario Wolves and won an OMHA Championship with the Highland Storm. He was a key player on the Haliburton Highland SS Red Hawks Varsity hockey team and is a former 2017-2018 Jr. C North Kawartha Knight. Gilbert is a smooth skating playmaker and we are excited to have him in blue

KYLER MACNEIL SIGNS WITH THE ICE '20-'21

We are pleased to announce we have signed '03 Kyler MacNeil from Alliston, On. Kyler played on the U18 'AA' TNT Tornados - made this team out of camp and impressed all - he is an intelligent and skilled forward. Welcome to the ICE!

LUSH SIGNS WITH THE ICE '20-'21

We are very pleased to announce the signing of 6'3 defenceman, Jonathan Lush. Lush ('02) is a tremendous skating offensive d-man from Pickering, ON. Lush played for the North Toronto Midget AA team in the G.T.H.L. He racked up 18 goals and 33 assists for 51 points and was selected to the Midget AA All-Star game. Welcome to the ICE, Jonathan!

MOORE SIGNS WITH THE ICE '20-'21

We are happy to announce we've signed veteran forward Alex Moore for the 20-21 season. Moore ('00) split last season between NOJHL and the Lansing Wolves of the USPHL. During the 18-19 season, Moore played CCHL2 and 3 games with the ICE. Welcome back, Alex!

CARRUTHERS SIGNS WITH THE ICE '20-'21

We are happy to announce F Jackson Carruthers has signed with the ICE. Carruthers ('02) played last season with the Midget AAA Richmond Hill Coyotes. Carruthers is an exceptional skater, tough as nails and plays hard every night.

LUNNEY SIGNS WITH THE ICE '20-'21

We are happy to announce Reid Lunney has signed with the ICE from the East Gwillimbury Midget 'A' Eagles. Lunney ('02) was the leading scorer for the Eagles and represented East Gwillimbury at the '19-'20 All-Star game. He has also played for the Georgina Blaze 'A' , Newmarket Redmen 'AA' and Central Ontario Wolves 'AAA'. Reid is from Holland Landing and is looking forward to getting started with the ICE. Welcome aboard, Reid!

SMITH SIGNS WITH THE ICE '20-'21

The ICE add more talent down the middle as we sign centreman Eric Smith. Smith ('02) was a '19-'20 Midget AA OMHA Champ with the Newmarket Redmen. He also went to the OHL Cup with AAA Barrie Colts as they went 27-3-4 that season. Welcome to the ICE, Eric!

WATERS SIGNS WITH THE ICE '20-'21

The Georgina ICE is thrilled to announce hometown defenceman Marshall Waters will return to the lineup for the '20-'21 season. Waters ('00) is a former OHL cup champion with the York Simcoe Express 'AAA' as well as a prior member of the Newmarket Hurricanes Jr. 'A' hockey club. At 5'10 190 lbs, Waters is solid as a rock and will bring great experience to the ICE defensive core. Welcome back, Marshall!

YUZWIN SIGNS WITH THE ICE '20-'21

The ICE continues to shore up the blue line by signing 17 year old Jacob Yuzwin. Last season Yuzwin played with the U18 'AAA' Mississauga Sens of the GTHL. The 6'4 220 lbs D is physical, skates well and makes a great first pass. Welcome to the ICE, Jacob!

VANDER KOOI SIGNS WITH THE ICE '20-'21

Vander Kooi (2002), the 6'2 power forward was an integral part of Newmarket's championship run. Vander Kooi is a talented forward who plays a big game and will transition exceptionally well to the PJHL next season. HEIGHT: 6'2 WEIGHT: 170 lbs DOB: JUNE 8, 2002 POSITION: F

NOTARO SIGNS WITH THE ICE '20-'21

Joshua Notaro (2002), the 5'11 defenceman was the captain of the championship Newmarket team. Notaro has a natural ability to lead and will continue to do so in Georgina. Notaro also played in 2 games for the York Simcoe Express 'AAA' team, recording 1 assist. HEIGHT: 5'11 WEIGHT: 170lbs DOB: DECEMBER 15, 2002 POSITION: D

HAMILTON SIGNS WITH THE ICE '20-'21

Braeden Hamilton (2002), the 6-foot defenceman was an assistant captain of the Redmen. He possesses a remarkable two-way game and will bring much needed offensive skill to the ICE. Hamilton appeared in 1 game for the York Simcoe Express 'AAA' and recorded an assist while also appearing in 1 game for the Alliston Hornets, last season. COLUCCI SIGNS WITH THE ICE '20-'21

Jacob Colucci (2002), a 6’4 defenceman with a left-handed shot, will bring his smooth skating ability to the ICE. In addition to winning the ‘AA’ OMHA Championship with Newmarket, Colucci also spent time with the York Simcoe Express ‘AAA’ last season appearing in 8 games under Coach Wally Bishop. Colucci calls Newmarket home. HEIGHT: 6'4 WEIGHT: 184 lbs DOB: JUNE 21, 2002 POSITION: DEFENCE

WESSINGER SIGNS WITH THE ICE '20-'21

Lucas Wessinger (2002), an offensively talented forward will be looking to make an immediate impact on the ICE. In addition to winning the ‘AA’ OMHA Championship last season with Newmarket, Wessinger also appeared in 5 games for the ICE notching 1 goal. He has previously played with the York Simcoe Express ‘AAA’. Wessinger calls Newmarket home. HEIGHT: 5'10 WEIGHT: 174 lbs DOB: SEPTEMBER 1, 2002 POSITION: FORWARD

BURBIDGE '03 COMMITS TO THE ICE - 2020-2021 SEASON

The ICE are excited to announce local Keswick defenceman Brett Burbidge (2003) has signed his letter of intent with the Georgina ICE. Last year as a 16 year old, Burbidge added 5 points in 12 games. Welcome back to the ICE!

DOWDALL '02 COMMITS TO THE ICE - 2020-2021 SEASON

Hey ICE fans, we are excited to announce local Keswick forward, Stafford Dowdall II (2002) has signed his letter of intent with the Georgina ICE Junior Hockey Club. Last year Dowdall dressed in 40 games for the ICE and added 9 goals and 19 assists in his rookie season. Please join us in welcoming Stafford back to the ICE!

MAIN CAMP INFORMATION

Normally in April we would be celebrating the end of our last season and sprouting ideas for next season. The health and safety of our players, staff and community is paramount. We will continue to monitor and uphold all guidelines by the Town of Georgina and York Region Public Health in regards to COVID-19. In the meantime, while we hold meetings by Zoom and practise social distancing, we are sticking close to home, staying fit and building buzz for our chance to play hockey at the Ice Palace.

You can get involved. The Georgina ICE are looking to add to their 2020-2021 roster; all positions are open. That includes players, parents, sponsors, volunteers and fans from far and wide.

Spring Camp Registration has been Postponed

Spring Camp Update 

We support the efforts of our public health authorities to break the chain of transmission of Covid-19 - The Town of Georgina has extended facility closures until June 30, 2020.

As a result, our spring camp has been postponed.

Organizational Change

Dear Fans,
If you're like us, you're missing precious ice time, and sports in general. We hope everyone is staying safe and protecting others while we navigate this difficult time.

As we continue to improve our organization and bring you the very best ICE team for the 2020-2021 season, we are excited to announce that Paul Dossey will be the club's new General Manager. Joseph Cornacchia will stay on as the club's President overseeing all hockey-related activities.

Paul brings over 40 years of experience to our club which include:

- General Manager of the Newmarket Hurricanes Junior A team for 3 years and Sequin Bruins

- Current President of Bradford West Gwillimbury Minor Hockey Association

- “He has sometimes been called ‘Mr. Hockey’”

- General Manager and Coach of the Bradford Bulls Junior C team

- Assistant Coach of the Alliston Hornets Junior C team.
