The Northern Pacific Hockey League has enjoyed a rich history throughout its first 15 seasons as a league. The NPHL started as a six-team Junior B league, but soon grew into a Junior A Tier III league after its seventh season. Since the league’s transition, it has developed and prepared numerous players for future stops within their hockey careers, including Tampa Bay Lightening All-Star, Tyler Johnson.
As one of the oldest Junior A Tier III hockey leagues, the NPHL has mastered its abilities to grow and develop players into future prospects for both college and upper division tiers within the junior hockey program. The development and growth of players is not just focused on the ice, but off the ice as well. Players are also involved within the community to learn about the necessary skills from interacting with fans to why it is important to give back to the community.
There will be seven participating teams in the NPHL this upcoming season, including the league’s newest expansion team, the Seattle Ravens. The NPHL is excited to continue its strong growth heading into the 2015 – 2016 season.
