The OHL GOLD CUP HIGH PERFORMANCE OFFICIATING CAMP runs annually in conjunction with the OHL Gold Cup, as a partnership between the Ontario Hockey League and Ontario Hockey Federation. Officials who are considering this program should have the desire and willingness to develop their skills and maximize their potential.
Each official works four games, which are supervised by OHL personnel. Off-ice seminars are also held and can include topics such as: communication, game management, the 4-man system, and video review. Additionally, there is one on-ice session on skating and/or testing.
The OHL Gold Cup is a minor midget tournament featuring the top talent in Ontario. Referees are expected to have worked at this level extensively. Linesman should have significant experience at the bantam AAA level or above.
