IMPORTANT THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT BALL HOCKEY
1. YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE A TEAM TO PLAY ON IN ORDER TO JOIN
- You can register as an INDIVIDUAL in our adult or youth leagues and we will place you on a team/division related to your skill.
- You can register as a SMALL GROUP (2-4 players) or a LARGE GROUP (5+) and we will ensure all of you will be placed on the same team.
2. I HAVE NEVER PLAYED BALL OR ICE HOCKEY BEFORE; CAN I STILL JOIN?
- ABSOLUTELY!! Beginners are more than welcome to join our leagues!
- In cities that have multiple divisions, you will be placed on a team in a division related to your skill set.
- In cities that we have one division per age category, the teams are designed to all have players with a variety of different skill sets. Each teams will have players that are new to the sport, average in skill and advanced in skill. Our goal is to balance these teams as evenly as possible to make for fun and competitive games.
3. BALL HOCKEY IS A GREAT INTRODUCTORY SPORT FOR YOUNG ASPIRING HOCKEY PLAYERS
- In most cities, you cannot start ice hockey until 5 years old. Ball hockey gives players the opportunity to play a form of hockey and learn the basic fundamentals (stickhandling, passing, shooting, team play) prior to stepping on the ice.
- It also allows parents an opportunity to gage the child’s interest level in the sport of hockey, prior to committing financially to the high expenses of ice hockey.
4. WHAT TYPE OF EQUIPMENT IS REQUIRED?
- One of the great things about ball hockey is that it requires a lot less equipment than ice hockey which is a two-fold benefit.
- The minimal equipment required makes it more affordable
- Less equipment = less time consuming. You can show up to the rink minutes before and be ready for warm-up.
- Clothing:
- Shoes (running shoes suggested), shorts/pants, jersey.
- All players in will be provided Jerseys and Shorts from the league (which you keep), unless you are joining with your own full team that has its own jerseys.
- Mandatory Equipment:
