 2019 PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS:
RULES, REGULATIONS AND QUALIFICATION INFORMATION

 

LOCATION
The 2019 Provincial Championships will be held in July 6th and 7th in Saskatoon at Henk Ruys Soccer Center (219 Primrose Drive).
There are 4 rinks in this facility (Original Joes, Mark Tennant, Uptown Orthodontics and Cliff Wright)

 

ELIGIBILITY
It is very important that you read and understand all items listed below, the use of ineligible players will result in your team forfeiting that game and potentially being removed from the tournament.

Affiliate Players: Any player that was registered to another team at the beginning of this season, is considered a pick up, regardless of number of games they have played with your team.

Number of Pick Ups Allowed
Saskatoon: 5 (cannot be playing on another team in provincials)
Regina and Lloydminster: 7 (allowed to be playing on a team in a different division)

Please review your online provincial roster to verify all registered players from league play are on it.

Please submit only the following to Provincial Rep
1. Any players from your league roster that are missing (if any).
2. All Pick- Ups: Include: City, Full name, their registered team and division.
All pick-ups must be submitted to Dean Crossland by 12 pm, Friday June 5th, by text.

All players will need to produce Photo Id to the timekeeper every game, no ID  - No play

  1. Players must have been registered in the league prior to June 1st and played at least 1 regular season games within league, for their registered team.
    Note: You cannot crossover leagues (ie: Co-Ed and Mens); A player only registered in Men’s League can only play Men’s, not coed, and vice versa.
    A player registered in both Men’s and Co-Ed is eligible to play both.
    - Saskatoon Women’s League, players are open to all Co-Ed teams from Regina and Saskatoon for provincials)
  2. All pick-ups must be from the qualified team’s division or lower, you cannot use players from another team participating in provincials within the same division

Players must have some form of photo identification for every game of the tournament, as it will be submitted to timekeeper prior to play.
FAILURE TO PROVIDE ID WILL RESULT IN NOT BEING ALLOWED TO PLAY THAT GAME.

  1. Players that meet all requirements listed above and appear on submitted team rosters can play at ANY TIME during the provincial championships


SCHEDULING FORMATS
The new format that we are using is a two game format to determine team’s seeding’s and then begin playoff round (Sunday)
The benefit of this new format include:
1.  Eliminating Thursday or Friday games
2. Keeping number of games at two per day
3. Allows for later start times on Saturday to accommodate out of town teams travel schedule
4. Allows for earlier game ending times on Saturday night

 

MENS B, C, & D
- All teams will play in 2 round robin games and will be seeded based on results, all teams make playoffs.

COED DIVISION
- all teams will play 2 round robin games on Saturday, then playoffs on Sunday.

 

ORDER FOR STANDINGS RANKINGS
3 Points regulation win, 2 Points Shootout Win, 1 Point Shootout loss, 0 pts regulation loss


1. Total Points
2. Wins
3. Goals For – Goal Against Differential (+/-)
4. Goals For
5. Head to head (if applicable)

 

MERCY RULE: Mercy Rule is in effect.
At any time after the second half has started, the score differential is 7 goals or greater the game will be stopped, this is for round robin and playoff round.
 

FORFEIT RULE: If a team fails to show up for a game, the score will be set as a 3-0 for the winning team.
 

 

 


JERSEYS + CONFLICTS
Teams are responsible for Jersey Conflicts, the HOME team must supply their own set of jerseys with numbers.
All players must have matching jerseys, it is the responsibility of the team picking up players to provide a jersey to their pick-ups.

RULES: CBHA rules IN EFFECT: Tournament will follow rules of CBHA and Suspension Guideline of League.
- Suspensions carry over to next season

 

TIME FORMAT
Round Robin, Quarter + Semi Finals: 2 x 20 minutes (first half running, second half stop)
Championships: 2 x20 stop time

PENALTY SHOTS AND OVERTIME
Round Robin: Penalty Shots
Quarter Final: 5 min OT (3 on 3 )  then shootout
Semi Finals: 10 minute OT (3 on 3) then shootout
Championship: 20 minute OT (3 on 3) then shootout

NUMBER OF PLAYERS

Teams will require 6 players (5 and goalie to starts game)

UNIFORMS:
All teams must have matching colors for  uniforms and different numbers, this includes A/P players.


2020 CANADIAN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP OPPORTUNITIES & QUALIFICATION
Teams that are competing in the Mens B,C and D divisions, will be playing to qualify for the spots in the
2020 National Championships in SASKATOON, SK.

- Champions and Finalists secure spots for this event
- Entry fee is covered for the Championship Team only
(In order to qualify for this, you team must be made up of 70% of your provincial roster)
