About The League

Established 1999
The Southern Collegiate Baseball League is a wood bat baseball league born in the south over 20 years ago through the vision of the Late Bill Capps. The SCBL provides opportunities for collegiate baseball players to experience wooden bat baseball in preparation for the dream of one day playing professional baseball. The Southern Collegiate is one of twelve leagues within the National Alliance of College Summer Baseball (NACSB). Leagues within the Alliance are partially funded by Major League Baseball and operate under NCAA rules and regulations. Each SCBL member team is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization primarily dependent on individual and business support within each team’s community. As a staple of amateur baseball in the Carolinas, the Southern Collegiate League has provided opportunities for over 6,000 student athletes from all divisions of college baseball. The experiences provided are similar to those of a professional baseball player. Over 100 SCBL Alumni have played professionally and many are currently coaching college and professionally. We are proud to help cultivate the baseball careers of college athletes, many of whom have achieved further success as players, coaches, and professionals in various levels of baseball and other sports. Beyond the field, league members participate in many community out-reach programs and several have experienced mission trips in and outside the United States. Season highlights include the opportunity to compete for a league championship as well as the opportunity to participate in the Southeastern Prospect Showcase attended by all Major League Baseball Clubs.
