Trade Deadline Recap
It was a busy trade deadline for almost all WLA teams this June 30th, as six trades were agreed to and approved by the Commissioner. In the order they were approved, here is a recap of the 2019 Trade Deadline:
1) Nanaimo Timbermen and Burnaby Lakers
Nanaimo receives:
- Burnaby's 1st Round draft pick in 2021; and
- New Westminster's 1st Round draft pick in 2021 (previously acquired by Burnaby).
Burnaby receives:
- Nanaimo's 1st Round draft pick in 2020; and
- Nanaimo's lower seed 3rd Round draft pick in 2020.
2) Langley Thunder and Maple Ridge Burrards
Langley receives:
- The playing rights to Matthew Dinsdale; and
- Maple Ridge's 2nd Round draft pick (previously acquired from Coquitlam) in 2020.
Maple Ridge receives:
- The 2019 playing rights to Dane Dobbie; and
- the 2019 playing rights to Reese Callies.
3) Langley Thunder and Victoria Shamrocks
Langley receives:
- Victoria's 1st Round draft pick in 2020;
- Victoria's 2nd Round draft pick in 2020, on the condition that territorial protection is not removed prior to the 2020 draft;
- the playing rights to Keegan Bell; and
- the 2019 playing rights Daniel Smith.
Victoria receives:
- The playing rights to Matthew Dinsdale;
- the 2019 playing rights to Connor Robinson; and
- the 2019 playing rights to Tyler Pace.
4) Nanaimo Timbermen and Langley Thunder
Nanaimo receives:
- The 2019 playing rights of James Rahe.
Langley receives:
- Nanaimo's 2nd Round draft pick in 2021; and
- Nanaimo's 3rd Round draft pick in 2021.
5) Coquitlam Adanacs and Burnaby Lakers
Coquitlam receives:
- The playing rights to Tyson Kirkness.
Burnaby receives:
- The 2019 playing rights to Vinny Ricci; and
- the 2019 playing rights to Dean Fairall.
6) Coquitlam Adanacs and Maple Ridge Burrards
Coquitlam receives:
- The playing rights to Alex Bohl.
Maple Ridge receives:
- Coquitlam's 4th Round draft pick in 2020; and
- Coquitlam's 6th Round draft pick in 2020.
